Summary
Starting on July 1, 2006 Colorado is no longer a reciprocity state for direct shipping and requires wineries to have an approved direct shipping permit. The annual renewal fee for applications is $50.00. Wineries must pay excise taxes on a monthly basis. The excise tax payment forms will be mailed to wineries that have completed the Winery Direct Shipper’s Permit Application. A physical visit to the winery is not required and there are no quantity limits.
License Required
Winery must obtain a license from the state in order to ship wine directly to consumers.
A license costing $50.00 is required for both onsite and offsite sales when shipping to this region, and must be renewed every year.
