Summary

Tennessee opened for direct shipping on July 1, 2009. Wineries must apply for a direct shipper's license and register to pay taxes before shipping to consumers in TN. Licensed direct shippers may ship a maximum of 1 case per month to a consumer and cannot send more than 3 cases to a consumer during a calendar year. There is an intital non-refundable application fee of $300 and the annual cost of the license is $150. The license is valid for one year from the date issued. Sales and excise taxes must be paid.
